Ag Chat from 9/16/26: Caswell Livestock summer break is over
From our Livestock Agent, Bailee Sheffield
The Caswell Cattlemen's summer break from meetings are over and they are ready for new learning opportunities. Beginning this week, the Cattlemen's group will meet on the third Thursday of each month until next April, everyone is welcome to attend. Each month a new topic related to cattle and livestock health, marketing, and farm regulations is explored. The monthly meetings through the fall and spring are also a great time for livestock producers to be able to meet each other and potentially learn a new tip or trick to take back to their farms.

On December 22nd, youth planning to show any other livestock than cattle, or those who cannot make the training on 11/25, will have the opportunity to take YQCA for the 2027 show season. It is important to note that any youth planning to show livestock through Caswell County 4-H will have to have BQA or YQCA training.
