Notice of Export Referendum for Tobacco Producers

Notice is hereby given that a check-off referendum will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in each flue-cured tobacco producing county in North Carolina.

Flue-cured tobacco producers will vote on continuing their support of export promotion and expansion for US flue-cured tobacco by Tobacco Associates, INC. for the marketing years 2019, 2020, and 2021. The referendum will be conducted by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service with polling stations located in each flue-cured tobacco producing County N.C. Cooperative Extension Offices during normal business hours. Other polling locations may be announced by the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Caswell County office. The referendum will include the question of continuance of the authorization of annual assessments not to exceed one-fifth (1/5) of one cent per pound. The exact assessment to be approved by the North Carolina Tobacco Associates Board members.
