If you are interested in selling meat off your farm then you need to get your meat handlers license! In order to sell cuts of meat from your own animals there are a few steps you need to follow.

  1. Obtain your meat handlers license.
  2. Get your animals slaughtered at a State or Federal Inspected Slaughter House.
  3. Follow all rules and regulations that pertain to storing and handling meat and meat products.

Now is the time to act if you have animals because there is a huge demand for meat. Just look at the grocery store, there is hardly anything there. People want to know where their food comes from and appreciate a great product.
